Hitachi UAG Elevators have achieved "machine room-less-ness" and the space saved can be utilised effectively, which maximise rent–able space and reduce construction costs for our customers. 

Hitachi UAG Elevators have adopted a gear–less traction machine and the latest Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology to reduce the capacity of the motor and other electrical equipment, resulting in substantial savings in energy costs. With this technology adopted, it provides a quiet and comfortable ride on Hitachi UAG Elevators.

Electromagnetic noise has been reduced by incorporating an IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) as a large–capacity, low–loss, high–speed switching drive element in the main circuit of the inverter.

UAG Elevators also feature a longer travel height unlike hydraulic elevators, which are limited to 21m.

In today's world, elevators are required to move large numbers of people in the shortest time possible. Hitachi has, therefore, developed a range of machine room–less elevators with large capacity to cater to such increasing needs.

Hitachi OUG Elevators use a slim–type traction machine, located at the lowest floor level, to reduce the hoistway size and pit depth. Improved operational energy efficiency is achieved with the use of a gearless, permanent magnet (PM) motor.
