The flexibility of Hitachi High Speed EIevator NPX-8000 meets usage demands any time of day, be it morning, noon, or night. Hitachi's advanced technology brings the flexible, intelligent group control system to realize and heighten user satisfaction. You can choose from three different group control systems to match your building size and number of elevators. The Hitachi multi-objective elevator supervisory group control system with artifical intelligence FI-340G, a newly developed system, uses genetic algorithms to provide differential floor control and let you set priority functions for different floors (Individual floor-situation control).
Smooth Door Systems
Being able to choose the opening and closing speed of the doors allows you to easily adjust the speed to match your building's use and user demands for the elevator. The system comes with an overload detection function and the doors pull back quickly when bumped or caught on something.

Compact and High Efficient
Hitachi has developed for elevators a high speed gear-less Traction Machine which uses high efficiency compact induction motor. By introducing the high efficiency compact induction motor and double disc brake , it is possible to achieve high efficiency, a compact design and very smooth high speed etevators. This kind of traction machine is 14% more compact and 5dB less noiser compared to currently used geared traction machines. At the same time, Hitachi has also reduced the height of the machine by introducing the disc brake.
Hitachi uses inverter technology for our low to high speed elevators. By using the most up to date IGBT technology, which concisely controls the speed by controlling voltage and frequency, our inverter elevators provide quiet and comfortable rides while using less energy. Furthermore, Hitachi has cut down high frequency noise by installing noise filter.
Hitachi digitized all the controls by using 32 bits RISC micro-processor greatly reduced the processing; which leads to smooth operation Hitachi also reduced the size of 1 control panels to more than 40% in area, and 50% in volume.
For safety equipment and door zone signals, Hitachi uses 2 micro-processors to ensure the safety. In case any minor trouble occurrs, the micro-processors detect the problem, and correct it automatically.
The Hitachi advanced group control system FI series, for example, provides short traveling time, and efficient distribution of the empty elevators in order to meet each building's need.
The Hitachi advanced group control system (FI series) incorporates newly designed fuzzy logic, expert system and genetic algorithm (GA) in order to achieve flexible and multi-objective elevator supervisory control system. Hitachi is sure that such technology will enable a man-man system which, we hope, will meet the demands of owners and users.
It also incorporates genetic algorithm which enables the elevator to meet the demand of each floor. This technology makes floors less crowded and makes the wait for an elevator shorter.

Hitachi considers elevators as the second entrance of a building and it's platform or cars as a part of the building. Hitachi does not consider an elevator just as equipment of a transportation but as an ornament of space structure.
These are diverse demands toward the expression of the building. Therefore, our product, the New Hitachi High Speed Elevator NPX-sooo, has prepared many car designs and control buttons and others to meet the customer's need to express their ideal structures.
Especially, by preparing many types of the ceiling designs, the jamb, the door and indicators, we are ready to offer products that fit into many different types of the buildings and entrances.
We also have established the full color paint technology by adapting CG (Computer Graphic) digital portrait processing. We are able to paint the original pictures or photos or paintings onto the car wall by scanning their data and transfering to the car wall.
Microcomputers are arranged in elevator's car, each floor's entrance, machine room, and in most of the equipment and they are all connected by SCL (Serial Communication Link) which enables a high degree of service for passengers.
Furthermore, we have developed a graphic monitor system, which enables you to change the car's position and direction and to check the state of cars on.the personal computer screen. (Optional)
We also have provided an evaporation type air-conditioner, which discards using drain tank and hose. (Optional)
The multi-beam sensor will provide smooth going in or out by detecting the passenger's motion with many infrared rays. (Optional)

Satisfy the Needs for Various Building Circumstances
- Hitachi Group Supervisory Control Systems (FI Series) -
The supervisory system has been developed to shorten and equalize the waiting time in halls and also to improve transportation efficiency. However, it is not always enough to take only the waiting time into account, depending upon how a building operates and the extent of traffic flow. In order to conform to these circumstances, Hitachi has three series of Multi-objective Elevator Supervisory Group Control Systems with Artifical Intelligence (FI Series).
|With this system, users select a preset customized operation program that is based on a pre-input multiobjective control pattern. Also, this system assigns more than one elevator to the more heavily-used floors using a peak traffic recognition program.
||This is applicable to a wide number of uses in buildings. This system can satisfy various utilization methods for an entire building by applying elevator sevices to the requirements of each floor. The multi-objective control algorithm features are designed to accommodate building characteristics and customer needs.
||This system houses an individual floor-situation control to assign elevators to a specific floor in response to a request. Each elevator is designed to have a different property for each floor so that it can be assigned in order to satisfy various needs. A flexible express operation and a reservation control indicator, both utilizing an LED display mounted on each floor, have proved to be convenient for passengers. This system uses a genetic algorithm which automatically evolves according to environmental changes.
FI Series Systems
As building have become larger, an intelligent elevator supervisory system, that can cope with various functions has become necessary. In order to conform to such user requests, we have developed the multi-objective elevator supervisory control system that is supported by an individual floor-situation control to satisfy the need for different services on each floor. This system uses a genetic algorithm which simulates biological evolution. As a result, fine operation has been realized. Now, this system automaically sends a less crowded elevator to a floor where a meeting room exists, or it sends an elevator with a short-waiting time to floors where heavily travelled business divisions exist.
Genetic algorithms are used to simulate biological evolution, as an optimization method for adjusting a number of parameters. FI-340G uses a genetic algorithm which automatically evolves according to environmental changes in order to satisfy the need for different services on each floor.
Individual Floor-situation Control
An operation control system has been designed by considering the riding (in car) time and the crowding in the cage in addition to the waiting time. For example, the frequent arrival of an empty elevator is desirable in hotels because of the amount of baggage that accompanies each person, while a reduction in the waiting time and riding time is desirable in office building. By extending this concept, each individual floor can be utilized in various ways in every building. In other words, it is desirable to change these indexes for every floor such that less crowded elevators are assigned to a floor where a drawing room may exist, while elevators that have a short waiting time are assigned to a floor where a sales division may exist.
FI-340G system consists of the following 4-functions.
- Learning function
Collects data of the number of calls from the hall side, and traffic demands in order to learn the specific building traffic demands.
- Intelligent function
Generates the most efficient multi-objective operation program.
- Operation function
Operates the hall calls based on the pre-input multi-objective control pattern.
- Information function
Consists of the latest 4-character LED displays for unique guidance to show the current status of the elevators in service.
